LOCATION.-- Lat 38°23'11", long 87°58'32", in NW1/4SE1/4 sec.33, T.1 S., R.14 W., Edwards County, Hydrologic Unit 05120113, on right bank at downstream side of bridge on State Highway 15, 0.5 mi north of Browns, 0.7 mi upstream from railroad bridge, and at mile 14.6.

DRAINAGE AREA.-- 228 mi2.

GAGE.-- Water-stage recorder, phone telemeter, and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 372.92 ft above sea level. Prior to Dec. 11, 1968, water-stage recorder and concrete dam at site 0.4 mi downstream at datum 2.0 ft higher. Dec. 11, 1968, to Aug. 13, 1969, nonrecording gage at site 0.5 mi downstream at datum 1.0 ft lower. Prior to Oct. 1, 1982, auxiliary nonrecording gage near mouth on Wabash River at Grayville read twice daily.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--
SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Maximum discharge, 7,500 ft3/s, May 9, 1961, gage height, 24.04 ft, site and datum then in use; minimum discharge, no flow at times in most years.

REMARKS FOR CURRENT YEAR.-- Records fair except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
